Trump Order to Share US Data Focuses on Unemployment Numbers

President Donald Trump has ordered federal agencies to share data across the government, part of his crusade to eliminate the waste and fraud that he says can be uncovered in many programs and departments.
The executive order applies to all agencies but specifically requires the secretary of Labor to receive “unfettered access to all unemployment data” — which could include jobless claims filed under state unemployment insurance programs that receive federal funding.
